Days Requirements for LPN or RN Registered Nurse Unit Manager:
Must possess a current Kentucky License as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse and have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
Must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply principles of administration, management, and leadership.
Must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply principles of nursing care and standards of nursing practice.
Must possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the legal aspects of nursing practice.
Must apply principles of communication and problem-solving techniques.
Must be able to adjust to change, perform multiple tasks and accept variable job assignments.
Must possess knowledge of and experience in the operation of long-term care in the state of Kentucky.
Responsibilities for LPN or RN Registered Nurse Unit Manager:
Consistently model and demonstrate excellence in customer service, with a constant focus on person-centered care/service delivery.
Conducts the Comprehensive Resident Assessment (CRA) on each resident on his/her unit according to Federal requirements and facility policy.
Coordinates the development, review, and revision of the interdisciplinary plan of care, addressing the resident's current needs.
Ensure the Nurse Assistant's Plan of Care is current and accurate.
Conducts rounds and audits to ensure consistent implementation of the resident's plan of care.
Coordinates resident care conferences with the interdisciplinary team members, resident, and resident's legal representative (as appropriate).
Daily monitoring of resident(s) Participates in resident's discharge planning Supervises nursing personnel on your unit.
Maintains a current Resident Roster (HCFA/CMS form 802) and Resident Census (HMFA/CMS form 672) for your unit.
Functions as a Unit Charge Nurse when staffing needs dictate and/or as directed by the Director of Nursing.
